crochet projects done and work in progress

welcome! hopefully all goes well with you!

it’s been about three weeks since i last wrote a blog post.

in recent weeks i finished the yellow vest and a new version of the orange spider bag.

this time it has become the lilac spider bag with a different type of top and handles, but the stitch pattern is the same. at first the shape of the bag has not become what i had in mind, i put it in the closet and have not looked at it for a few days and now i actually think the bag looks fine. i still have some improvements to make and after that i will post a couple of new photos.

the yellow shrug is also finished and as you can see it is not haute couture, but it wears very comfortable and feels so soft. i love the thing!collage yellow shrug by elisabeth andrée

opaline

a few years ago i worked on the blue diamonds blanket and although it is not quite done i want to do something similar.

and maybe you can remember the baby blanket? see here for the pictures and pattern. i had made some variations on the stitch pattern of that blanket, please see here for the photos. the large dark gray blocks i like the most and that is the pattern i chose to make a blanket of only those fake squares.

the new blanket will be a combination of the ideas of these three blankets.

the yarn is called opaline and it is phildar impact 6 and i crochet with hook size 6.5 mm. the color reminds me of sea glass and therefore i want to decorate the rug with colors that you can see on pictures of sea glass, see here or here

i still have a long way to go before the blanket is finished, but i find it quite fun to work on while imagine how i’m going to decorate it.

that is it for today, the ‘how to’ for the foldover bag is coming, please be patient for a little while?

thank you for visiting my blog and hopefully soon!

two projects

hello here i am again! nice to see you!

the diamonds blanket progresses but my left shoulder hurts so much that i’ve started a small project, so i can sit and work in a better posture. after that i go back to work on my large project. regarding the blanket: the last strip is ready but i yet have to attach it onto the blanket, the embroidery is done although i have many threads to weave in at the back. after those two jobs are done i can crochet the edge.

about the small project i will tell you more next time. i try to make a tutorial for beginning crocheters but posterous does not work well anymore but i’ll try to publish it. to be continued.

hope to see you soon!

crocheted blue diamonds 8

…..

thanks for stopping by!

first i like to say thank you again to natalie, melissa, blandina and martina for their responses to my request for advice. it is clear: lining the blanket in a way that i find beautiful will not work so i forget about that.

today i doubted whether i would make a post about the blue diamonds blanket. i’m a little worried that it is boring for you, so i’ll keep it as short as possible:)
the sixth strip i have attached to the blanket and the seventh strip is – except for one rectangle – finished. the embroidery and the buttons on two rectangles you could see last time…

…..

glad you’re here!

the blanket is now too large for the dining table so i have spread it out on the floor to take a picture, but it is difficult to get a nice sharp photo with clear visible details. the sixth strip is ready but i must still attach it to the blanket. now i have two strips to go and then create the border.

advice needed

the lining of a bag i always make with the sewing machine, but i sew it in by hand. the blue diamonds blanket, i would like to provide with a lining because i think that it will be beautiful and to cover up the back of the embroidery. but i think that this blanket is to large to sew the lining onto by hand.

my question to you is:

do you have experience with sewing crochet work with a sewing machine? filet crochet is stretchy and i do not want to use stretchy fabric.

maybe you can and will advise me? hope you will write me!

see you next time!

crocheted blue diamonds 6

hello, welcome back!

it seems that complaining about the heat has helped, the temperature is very comfortable since monday. friends told me on facebook that it was 40 degrees celsius and even 46 where they live. and there are more people who stay indoors because of the high temperatures outside.
my poor mother can not stand the warmth very well and now she is older (do not tell further, she’s 81) she is getting more and more problems with it. during some very hot days she had a bad cold too and she was short of breath. fortunately she is a little better by now.

my blanket

well, i can not tell anything exciting about it. i have all the ends at the back woven in, i’m busy embroidering the 5th strip and i’m crocheting strip number 6.

it’s a super great project to work on. i must say i really like to embroider crochet work, it’s something you can work on relaxed and it is pleasant to think about/imagine all the stitches you can possible make. but there is nothing like crocheting!

in my next post i’d like to ask for your advice so i hope you come back for a visit.

until then!

and here are some more photos…
