crochet projects: 2 done and 2 in the works

hello, good to see you!

.

lilac cowl

a small and fun project and easy to make (to my opinion).

i used one ball of 100 gram saskia yarn with hook size 4.5 mm and worked a little loosely.

for a basic ‘how to make’ you can use this explanation for the curly bracelet. for this lilac cowl i made 151 chains per curl and made all single crochets.

cat bed

for the cat of my cousin who loves to sleep on soft and crochet things, i made a cat bed that measures about 50 x 50 cm and about 10 cm high. it is a little wobbly and feels really soft and comfortable (inside a children’s comforter which is easily washable) so i hope the cat will love to relax on it.

.

cushion cover

both sides of the cushion cover made of ‘another squares’ are done. all the squares are sewn together, i have crocheted one row around and fasten off the yarn …. and i think i measured something wrong because the sides are to small for the pillow, so i need to crochet more rows around them. no problem.

if you like, you can find the pattern for the squares here. the yarn i use is scheepjes ‘softfun’ and crochet hook size 4.00 mm.

spiders

some evenings were a little cold but for me those evenings were a good opportunity to work on my orange spider blanket.work in progress orange spider blanket by elisabeth andrée

crochet work in progress

hope all is well with you?!

last week i had no opportunity to write a blog post. we had a final farewell in the family and although not totally unexpected, for us it was too soon. i’m still a little confused, but fortunately for me there are yarn, hooks and crochet.

maybe you like to take a look at my wips?

in the house of my mother, i found this simple glass vase, with a minor damage at the top edge, it measures 21 cm high with a diameter of 18 cm. i have crochet a sleek cover of light green catania yarn and at the top a small teal and coral edge.

the spider stitch blanket has only become a little larger. the yarn is stylecraft special dk and the color’s name is saffron, which is a really fresh and happy shade of orange.

the slightly variegated green colored bag you see on the picture below is for my sister in law. the yarn is cotone of lana grossa and it feels quite firm which makes it suitable to use it for projects like this. the bag is almost ready, only the top i have to finish and i’m thinking to make a surprising color effect.

last but not least, a secret project and it has to remain secret for a while, but i will post more photos as soon as possible. it is pink and lilac and the lilac has a gray undertone. the yarn is the lovely acrylic peques of katia. it feels very soft!lilac and pink secret crochet project in the works

that is all for today but this afternoon i will join ginny’s yarn along at small things

wish you a wonderful day and i hope to see you soon again!

crochet projects: one finished, one wip and something vintage

welcome! thanks for stopping by!

last week i have not worked on my opaline blanket, but i have done a few other things.

lacy with dots crochet cushion cover

one project is finished and that is this lacy with dots cushion cover.

it is made with three colors of scheepjes softfun. more info about the yarn you can find here and the pattern for the square here

crochet bag

this bag is finished too, the crochet work i mean, it needs a lining but so far i didn’t find a fabric i like.

the bag is made with cotton 8 of the label scheepjes (info here), lovely yarn although it is a little thinner than the cotton 8 i’m used to of other labels and therefor it is not really suitable for making bags (i think). the result is a bit baggy hence lining is needed.

vintage square

last night i tried a vintage pattern, i’ve pulled out the last few rows because the square was getting wobbly and crocheted a modified fifth row and this is the result. i am not a great lover of bobbles (except for edges) but i love this square!

the pattern counts 7 rows, it is free available here (scroll down for the picture of the square) and it is an easy to follow description.

well, that is all i have to share this week.

work in progress: crochet opaline blanket

welcome, so kind of you to visit my blog!

last week i didn’t have to show you much, so i skipped the work in progress post.

the opaline blanket is finished, regarding the crochet work and now it is time for sewing on small crochet motifs, beads and buttons and making embroidery stitches. on the picture you see small pieces of white paper that i’ve pinned onto the blanket so i can remember where i like to have the items. i think i need to work on my bed, because the blanket is too large for sitting at the table with it and the floor is hard to sit on for a longer time 😉

photos below

if you like you can find more into about the stitch pattern that i use for the blanket here (pattern baby blanket) and here (info about the variation on the stitch pattern that i use for my current blanket).

the pattern for the square on the left you can find here and the squares on the right here.
used materials:
  • the opaline yarn is phildar impact 6 and i worked with hook size 6.5 mm.
  • the small squares are made with katia jaipur and hook size 1.75 mm.

over the past weeks, i have also made a few bags, but i’ll tell you about that another time.

hope the rest of the week is pleasant for you and i hope to see you soon!

hello, how are you?!

we are halfway the week already, time to show some crochet work. still working on my opaline blanket, it is 8 blocks wide and almost 7 block high, that means 1 row of blocks to go. next i will start with the border and thereafter it is finally time for the embellishments.
