crochet projects: 5 done and 3 in the works

welcome and thanks for stopping by!

below may be an overload of photos, but i hope you like to take a look 🙂

do you remember this picture of my post of the 6th of may?

side tables and inspiration board elisabeth andrée

a small and simple sidetable that i found in my mother’s house and this is how it looks with it’s new cover.

the yarn is softfun of scheepjes. on the floor you see a vase which was also my mother’s and although i think it is very ugly i know my mother has it for years and years, so i took it home with me.

for an empty glass jar i made a ‘dress’ in the same style as the (super)market bags i have made lately. to make the rope i crochet foundation half double crochets and attached it to the cover with two large keyrings. with some led lights in it, the shadows look wonderful in the evening. used yarn is a combination of catania and phil coton 3.

for no reason i tried a vintage pattern. it is a large motif of the irish crochet doily number 7635 which you can find here

used yarn is phil coton 3.

just because i love this yarn – which is better for knitting – but it is so beautiful and it is the best yellow i have seen for a while. two balls of katia creta, crochet hook size 5.00 mm and very loosely made double crochets, some slip stitches along the short sides and four wooden buttons. voila, a simple and super soft cowl for my sister in law.

finished too is my lilac shawl, more photos and notes how i crocheted it you can find here. the bright green bag is made with the same stitch pattern (years ago) and it has a complete other character because off the yarn and color.

three wips

a cushion cover in citrus hues (free hand, no pattern)….

in the works crochet cushion cover in citrus hues
….. and these rectangular grannies.

for quite some time i was looking for a pattern and although there are many great patterns available, when i saw the diagram i thought yes, that is the rectangle i like to crochet. the pattern is written but it also has great diagrams. a small adjustment, i make 2 chain spaces in the corners instead of 1 chain spaces. i don’t like to squeeze 6 stitches in such a small space. direct link to the pdf is here.

.

last but not least, 42 ‘another squares’ are all blocked and ready to be sewed together. pattern for the squares here.

will be continued….

well that is all i have to show you today. if you have time, leave a small note with what you think is your favorite project.

have a wonderful day, rest of the week and until next time!

crochet bag done and a shawl in the works

welcome! nice of you to stop by!

last week i made this supermarket bag for my brother and the question was: would he mind using it? gladly he likes the bag and wouldn’t mind using it at all. the body of the bag is made with catania color number 242 (anthracite) and the top and handles with phil coton 3 color number 54 (canard)

lilac

for the lilac shawl in the works (below) i – again – work with katia peques acrylic yarn, this time with crochet hook size 4.00 mm. the hue is a slightly lighter than the lilac of this stole/scarf.

for my current wip i also use a stitch pattern of mypicot and the route to find the diagram is: mypicot.com – openwork & lace – pattern number 2037. you can find it here and this is the direct link to the pdf

small side table

a project for the nearby future is a cover for the top of this small side table and i think i know what to make but i will tell and show you another time.

until then keep crocheting, knitting and all the other creative activities that makes the world a little more beautiful.

crochet stole in lilac and pink

nice to see you!

last week i posted a picture of a secret project but since it is finished and delivered to the person for whom i made it, you can see more photos. the stole/scarf is a birthday present for my cousin renée.

crochet lacy stole scarf on hanger by elisabeth andrée

in case you like to crochet a similar stole/scarf below you can find some brief info and the link to the stitch pattern. i didn’t make notes so i can’t write down the pattern for you, but hopefully the info is sufficient for you.

used materials:

katia peques, a very soft acrylic yarn, 2 balls pink (color number 941) and 2 ball lilac (color number 920) and i worked with crochet hook size 3.5 mm.

more info about the yarn on the katia website.

used stitch pattern:

the diagram for the stitch pattern you can find via this link or download the pdf here.

in case the links are not working or you like to see an explanation how to crochet the stitch pattern, this is the route: go to mypicot, choose multi-color and click on more patterns then look for pattern number 1014 – you will see this photo:

mypicot.com pattern number 1014

mypicot pattern number 1014

there you will find a tutorial with photos and a link to the diagram.

brief explanation how to make the stole/scarf
  • crochet as many chains you need to get the desired length and crochet some extra. after row one there will be some unworked chains, but you can remove them with a needle with a blunt tip and weave in the yarn end.
  • follow the diagram until your stole/scarf has the width you want.
  • for the edge i worked picots all around the stole/scarf, equally divided.
  • the picots i made like this: 1 sc in 1 chain space, 2 ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 1 ch space. make between the bows only single crochets and no picots to follow the waves. in the corners you make a picot and 1 sc into the same 1 ch space, 2 ch, picot, 1 sc in next 1 ch space.
  • as a detail i crocheted single crochets over a large pin followed by a row of slip stitches, then sewed some beads and a button onto it.
  • that is all the info about this project and i hope you like it!
  • UPDATE!
tip: to keep the stole/scarf straight it is recommended to work a few rows on the other side of the beginning chains. i did three rows and just followed the stitch pattern.

have a wonderful day!

the large floor cushion and the nutty pillow are also waiting.

work in progress 4 projects by elisabeth andrée

at the moment my home is a mess because i am rearranging things and that gives much hassle. there is not much crochet activity because of that and because my fingers are very sore. but you know me, i can’t stop and with thick yarn and a large hook size i can do some crocheting. the soft yellow yarn is katia alaska, a very soft acrylic and i am in love with it. info about the stitches you can find here.

crocheted orange drape

the orange drape is finished!

it has a double edge and therefore it became a little curly. the edge i also made a little different than is written in the pattern and instead of three rows, i have made four rows of medallions.

the shawl drapes beautifully and i think it will be quite chic in a natural color. it’s an easy pattern to follow with good charts, but i did not really have fun making it and so i was glad i was done with it, not sure why. the pattern is from the 2012 vogue knitting crochet special, which i have on my ipad.

as usual, i have too many pictures a serie of pictures for you to see, i’m curious to your opinion about the drape.

if you like, just click on the photos to see them in a larger size.
