crochet projects: one finished, one wip and something vintage

welcome! thanks for stopping by!

last week i have not worked on my opaline blanket, but i have done a few other things.

lacy with dots crochet cushion cover

one project is finished and that is this lacy with dots cushion cover.

it is made with three colors of scheepjes softfun. more info about the yarn you can find here and the pattern for the square here

crochet bag

this bag is finished too, the crochet work i mean, it needs a lining but so far i didn’t find a fabric i like.

the bag is made with cotton 8 of the label scheepjes (info here), lovely yarn although it is a little thinner than the cotton 8 i’m used to of other labels and therefor it is not really suitable for making bags (i think). the result is a bit baggy hence lining is needed.

vintage square

last night i tried a vintage pattern, i’ve pulled out the last few rows because the square was getting wobbly and crocheted a modified fifth row and this is the result. i am not a great lover of bobbles (except for edges) but i love this square!

the pattern counts 7 rows, it is free available here (scroll down for the picture of the square) and it is an easy to follow description.

well, that is all i have to share this week.

crochet nutty pillow done!

it’s friday and i hope you will enjoy the weekend!

here are some pictures of the bright colored crochet nutty pillow that i started september last year, more info here. this week i finally completed the project. it is made entirely of leftover yarn.

inside is a pillow made from an old duvet cover filled with leftover yarn, yarn ends and leftover crochet projects. i measured to find the middle on both sides and pulled needle and yarn through.

the crochet cushion cover i washed and after it was dried, i have put the sewed cushion in it and i could easily pull the yarn on both sides through the center and attach the buttons, then i sewed the edge.

the nutty pillow is a large floor cushion of almost 90 cm in diameter, it feels like a comfortable mattrass and i designed it for two cats to relax and sleep on it. i hope they like the neon details!

Have a lovely weekend and until next time!

at the moment my home is a mess because i am rearranging things and that gives much hassle. there is not much crochet activity because of that and because my fingers are very sore. but you know me, i can’t stop and with thick yarn and a large hook size i can do some crocheting. the soft yellow yarn is katia alaska, a very soft acrylic and i am in love with it. info about the stitches you can find here.

crochet pyramid shaped cushion with embroidery stitches

welcome, nice of you to visit my blog!

the nutty pillow is waiting, unfortunately i did not have time and it is a little too warm to work on it. it is sunny and warm and it’s nice to go outside.

yesterday afternoon and evening, i’ve worked on the mustard yellow scarf, only a few stitches to go and then i can weave in the yarn ends.

i do not think i be able to post part two of the tutorial on my blog this week, but maybe in the weekend or shortly thereafter.

pyramid cushion

what i have done is finishing the pyramid shaped crochet cushion with embroidery stitches. the pyramid is stuffed with leftover white acrylic yarn that i cut into pieces.

it is also useful as a standard for my ipad on table or lap.

now i have three pyramids, all with a different look.

if you like to make one too here is the link to the original idea and this is the link to the tutorial for the pyramid made with 2sctog.

work in progress: the crochet nutty pillow

    nice to see you!

with a lot of short and longer pieces of leftover yarn i’ve made yarn balls, crazy yarn balls, to make another cushion for a dog or cat (i think). the ball on the first picture i already had for a while.

the pieces of yarn i knotted together, and normally that’s something i never do. the knots you can see and feel and they are not secure as weaving in yarn ends is.

but i did it anyway because some pieces of yarn were so short and i did not feel for other methods to join the yarn ends.

with these ball i crochet the nutty pillow:)

it’s a really fun project to work on because the nature of it is changing with every color you add. occasionally i crocheted a few rows of white yarn (also leftover from another project) between rows to freshen up the whole.

at the moment i’m working on the edge with bright pink yarn of which i found an almost complete ball in a bag with leftovers. then i will sew a fabric cover to fill with more leftover yarn and yarn ends, to put in the crochet nutty pillow. but i have no time for that the coming days, so that’s a job for next week.
