crochet projects: 5 done and 3 in the works

welcome and thanks for stopping by!

below may be an overload of photos, but i hope you like to take a look 🙂

do you remember this picture of my post of the 6th of may?

side tables and inspiration board elisabeth andrée

a small and simple sidetable that i found in my mother’s house and this is how it looks with it’s new cover.

the yarn is softfun of scheepjes. on the floor you see a vase which was also my mother’s and although i think it is very ugly i know my mother has it for years and years, so i took it home with me.

for an empty glass jar i made a ‘dress’ in the same style as the (super)market bags i have made lately. to make the rope i crochet foundation half double crochets and attached it to the cover with two large keyrings. with some led lights in it, the shadows look wonderful in the evening. used yarn is a combination of catania and phil coton 3.

for no reason i tried a vintage pattern. it is a large motif of the irish crochet doily number 7635 which you can find here

used yarn is phil coton 3.

just because i love this yarn – which is better for knitting – but it is so beautiful and it is the best yellow i have seen for a while. two balls of katia creta, crochet hook size 5.00 mm and very loosely made double crochets, some slip stitches along the short sides and four wooden buttons. voila, a simple and super soft cowl for my sister in law.

finished too is my lilac shawl, more photos and notes how i crocheted it you can find here. the bright green bag is made with the same stitch pattern (years ago) and it has a complete other character because off the yarn and color.

three wips

a cushion cover in citrus hues (free hand, no pattern)….

….. and these rectangular grannies.

for quite some time i was looking for a pattern and although there are many great patterns available, when i saw the diagram i thought yes, that is the rectangle i like to crochet. the pattern is written but it also has great diagrams. a small adjustment, i make 2 chain spaces in the corners instead of 1 chain spaces. i don’t like to squeeze 6 stitches in such a small space. direct link to the pdf is here.

.

last but not least, 42 ‘another squares’ are all blocked and ready to be sewed together. pattern for the squares here.

will be continued….

well that is all i have to show you today. if you have time, leave a small note with what you think is your favorite project.

have a wonderful day, rest of the week and until next time!

a mix of crochet projects

hello, hope all is well with you?!

spring still isn’t here alas but storm, rain and sometimes beautiful sunshine that clears up my mood.

very small blanket

last week i suddenly had much time to crochet and i found some variegated yarn of red, orange and pink. i bought 2 balls, not many, because the yarn felt unpleasantly, but i really liked and like the color mix. it doesn’t show well on the pictures but it is a mix of red, yellow/orange and pink.close up of variegated yarn red, orange and pink

i made a very small blanket, it measures about 60 x 60 cm, with a row of yellow teeth all around it.

the blanket is a large version of this square (free pattern) and the row is made of yarn from my stash and you can make it as follows:

  • row 1. attach a second color yarn to any 1-ch space (except a corner space), then make 1 sc in same space, 3 ch, ** 1 sc in next 1-ch space, 3 ch **, repeat this all around the square, but in the corner spaces you make 1 sc, 3 ch, 1 sc all in the same space, join in first sc (remove the attachment stitch when you weave in the yarn ends).
  • row 2. the ‘teeth’: slip stitch to first 3-ch space and make 1 sc in space, * 3 ch, draw up a loop in 2nd and draw up a loop in 3rd ch from hook, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, 1 sc in same space, 1 sc in next space, repeat from * until end of row.
  • weave in yarn ends. done!

after the blanket is washed, it turned out very soft. more info about the yarn here.

soft green and white square project

my intention is to make a cover for an oblong cushion with these off-white with soft green squares. at this moment i have 21 squares done and 21 centers, not quite finished but already well on the way.

project another squares work in progress

orange spider

a new project with orange stylecraft yarn that i had in my stash. i have nine balls, so a small blanket should be possible. i love spider stitch patterns and this is one i really like in particular. work in progress orange spider blanket

opaline blanket

last but not least my opaline blanket is finished and i must admit i gave up my plans to decorate it. i tried and tried but plain and simple is what i like most. so, no decoration and here are a few pictures for you to see how the finished blanket looks like.

that is it for today, will join ginny’s yarn along at small things

hope to be back next week, wish you very beautiful days!wip orange spider blanket on finished opaline crochet blanket

crochet projects: one finished, one wip and something vintage

welcome! thanks for stopping by!

last week i have not worked on my opaline blanket, but i have done a few other things.

lacy with dots crochet cushion cover

one project is finished and that is this lacy with dots cushion cover.

it is made with three colors of scheepjes softfun. more info about the yarn you can find here and the pattern for the square here

crochet bag

this bag is finished too, the crochet work i mean, it needs a lining but so far i didn’t find a fabric i like.

the bag is made with cotton 8 of the label scheepjes (info here), lovely yarn although it is a little thinner than the cotton 8 i’m used to of other labels and therefor it is not really suitable for making bags (i think). the result is a bit baggy hence lining is needed.

vintage square

last night i tried a vintage pattern, i’ve pulled out the last few rows because the square was getting wobbly and crocheted a modified fifth row and this is the result. i am not a great lover of bobbles (except for edges) but i love this square!

the pattern counts 7 rows, it is free available here (scroll down for the picture of the square) and it is an easy to follow description.

well, that is all i have to share this week.

crochet nutty pillow done!

it’s friday and i hope you will enjoy the weekend!

here are some pictures of the bright colored crochet nutty pillow that i started september last year, more info here. this week i finally completed the project. it is made entirely of leftover yarn.

inside is a pillow made from an old duvet cover filled with leftover yarn, yarn ends and leftover crochet projects. i measured to find the middle on both sides and pulled needle and yarn through.

the crochet cushion cover i washed and after it was dried, i have put the sewed cushion in it and i could easily pull the yarn on both sides through the center and attach the buttons, then i sewed the edge.

the nutty pillow is a large floor cushion of almost 90 cm in diameter, it feels like a comfortable mattrass and i designed it for two cats to relax and sleep on it. i hope they like the neon details!

Have a lovely weekend and until next time!

work in progress 4 projects by elisabeth andrée

at the moment my home is a mess because i am rearranging things and that gives much hassle. there is not much crochet activity because of that and because my fingers are very sore. but you know me, i can’t stop and with thick yarn and a large hook size i can do some crocheting. the soft yellow yarn is katia alaska, a very soft acrylic and i am in love with it. info about the stitches you can find here.
