crochet projects done and work in progress

welcome! hopefully all goes well with you!

it’s been about three weeks since i last wrote a blog post.

in recent weeks i finished the yellow vest and a new version of the orange spider bag.

this time it has become the lilac spider bag with a different type of top and handles, but the stitch pattern is the same. at first the shape of the bag has not become what i had in mind, i put it in the closet and have not looked at it for a few days and now i actually think the bag looks fine. i still have some improvements to make and after that i will post a couple of new photos.

the yellow shrug is also finished and as you can see it is not haute couture, but it wears very comfortable and feels so soft. i love the thing!collage yellow shrug by elisabeth andrée

opaline

a few years ago i worked on the blue diamonds blanket and although it is not quite done i want to do something similar.

and maybe you can remember the baby blanket? see here for the pictures and pattern. i had made some variations on the stitch pattern of that blanket, please see here for the photos. the large dark gray blocks i like the most and that is the pattern i chose to make a blanket of only those fake squares.

the new blanket will be a combination of the ideas of these three blankets.

the yarn is called opaline and it is phildar impact 6 and i crochet with hook size 6.5 mm. the color reminds me of sea glass and therefore i want to decorate the rug with colors that you can see on pictures of sea glass, see here or here

i still have a long way to go before the blanket is finished, but i find it quite fun to work on while imagine how i’m going to decorate it.

that is it for today, the ‘how to’ for the foldover bag is coming, please be patient for a little while?

crochet work in progress 2014

hello dear friends!

thank you for visiting while you must be busy ! or maybe not 🙂

this blogpost is the last one of 2014 but i think i will keep posting pictures on instagram

there are some projects that i still didn’t finish and i know some of you are waiting for the explanations. a promise is a promise, the ‘how to’ for the foldover bag (photo top right) and the scarf/cowl (photo top left) will be available here on my blog.

the large floor cushion and the nutty pillow are also waiting.

at the moment my home is a mess because i am rearranging things and that gives much hassle. there is not much crochet activity because of that and because my fingers are very sore. but you know me, i can’t stop and with thick yarn and a large hook size i can do some crocheting. the soft yellow yarn is katia alaska, a very soft acrylic and i am in love with it. info about the stitches you can find here.

crochet work in progress: giant cushion, blanket and more

welcome!

we are halfway the week and i almost forgot that it is work in progress day 🙂

hope you are fine and that every day you find a little time for yourself to be creative?!

i am still working on my soft ribbing pattern and so far this is my favorite of all blankets i have made (i think, because i love them all). if you like the look of this blanket in the making, here is the link to how to crochet a stretchy ribbing fabric.

another wip is the giant crochet cushion made of brown variegated squares with colored edges. currently i sew the squares together, one side of the cushion is half way done. more info about the yarn and the squares you can find here.

last but not least, the foldover bag and the small cases are still waiting to be finished.

crochet work in progress: bags and cases

hello!!

we are already halfway through the week and it is time to show the projects i’m working on the last few days. hope you like to take a look at the photos 🙂

the yarn i crochet with is “scheepjes stonewashed XL”, a mix of 70% cotton with 30% acrylic. scheepjes is a dutch label and the yarn is beautiful. i’m using crochet hook 5.0 mm and work pretty tight because i want to make a firm fabric which will keep the bags in better shape while carry more weight.

different colors

the black with yellow stripes, will be a fold-over bag, one of the two small cases i like to use as a makeup bag and/or to hold other smaller things i always carry around with me.  the mesh bag i want to keep pretty small, because i – also – want to put it in the fold-over bag for unexpected buys so i can avoid plastics.

the two cases that you see on the pictures are for a crocheter who has hooked before, easy to make. if you like to have some explanations how to make them please write me a comment. i am not talking about a pattern or tutorial, just the explanations. you can write a comment below until 45 days after today 🙂

this was it for today, i love to join ginny’s yarn along at small things !

until next time!

a crochet bag for a little girl

today i’d like to show you something sweet and funny.

early may this year, i have crochet a bag for my cousin renée and her granddaughter sofie (her name is actually
sofie-fleur).
see post here.

short time after i received a sweet email from sofie-fleur’s father casper and mother judit accompanied by a picture of sofie-fleur wearing her bag as a … hat.
