picnic blanket is finished!

.

nice to see you here!

the picnic blanket is finished and it looks a bit different than i envisioned.

i had the blocks crocheted together with white yarn but i became loopy when i saw the result…

.

i have ripped the white and tried it with a soft pink hue.

again ripped it and also tried a piece with a gray purple tint…the result was bluh.

then i crocheted two strips together with the anthracite colored yarn, but the blanket then looked very unfriendly and a picnic blanket should not look like it wants to bite your butt – to my opinion. then i sewed the blocks together but i did not like it and have everything disconnected.

.

finally i did manage to crochet the blocks neatly together and to make an edge around the blanket.

here in the netherlands it is still no spring weather and much too cold for a picnic. therefore these pictures in my living room, i hope you like them.

in the coming time i will make a tutorial, though … would you like to have a tutorial for this blanket? please, let me know if you do?

wish you a wonderful weekend!

  1. Very pretty blanket! I hope the weather warms up for you soon – I’ve been hearing from my parents in the UK how the cold is persisting for a long time this year!

Thanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a fabulous week!

  2. Yes, I like the grey that you used.

  3. It is a bit of Spring in your living room! I feel so much in need of color in this period of the year, don’t you?

  4. You definitely made the right decision, the white is much better around the edges 🙂

  5. I love the edging! Such a a great finish!

  6. It looks really pretty and has the perfect size – yes, I would absolutely like to have the tutorial! Happy weekend, Anette♡

  7. Really cute. Well done.

  8. Looks like you’re going to have a good picnic time in the coming months! I am amazed about your patience to give it so many tries; but the result looks great.

  9. Mooi geworden!
Strak en modern en maar de granny squares geven een klassiek tintje.

Er is veel te vinden over het aan elkaar maken van vierkanten, maar het blijft altijd weer de vraag welke methode je moet kiezen. Goed gekozen!

  10. Amazing project! The combination of colors is adorable.
