stitch pattern of the blankets

question: “i wanted to ask what stitch you used for the middle part of the squares”

the stitch pattern for the squares is almost the same as the one for the yellow blanket, but there are subtle differences.

first photo
here are the groups of two double crochets together made into the 1 ch spaces, the spaces between the groups are larger than in the other two methods.

here are the groups of two double crochets together made into the 2 back loops of the half double crochets and you can see some extra structure.

example

(american terms):
  • ch = chains
  • h dc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • 2dc tog = 2 double crochet together

make 20 chain
  • row 1.
1 h dc into the 6th ch from hook, *1 ch, skip 1 ch, 1 h dc into the next ch*, repeat between * and * until end of row, 3 ch, turn
  • row 2.
crochet 2dc tog into the first h dc or into the first 1 ch space, *1 ch, 2dc tog into the next h dc or into the next 1 ch space*, repeat between * and * until end of row but end with skip 1 ch, 1 dc into the next ch, 3 ch, turn
  • row 3.
1 h dc into the first 1 ch space, *1 ch, 1 h dc into the next 1 ch space*, repeat between * and * until end of row and end with 1 h dc into the top of the turning chains, 3 ch, turn
  • repeat rows 2 and 3 to the desired size.

i hope this has answered the question! 🙂
