about crochet

at the end of this week i’d like to present you the websites of some very inspiring people. it does not necessarily have to be crochet to inspire me, because many things i find interesting to look at: colors and shapes, flowers and animals, buildings, furniture and fabrics.

here are a few examples, hopefully you like it!

. textile art

karen barbé

i’ve sometimes wondered how it is possible that one human being can have so much talent. if you visit karen barbé’s blog i think you know what i mean. a while ago i saw a few pictures of her work on flickr and now i regularly visit her website. i think her work is fantastic. oh and do not forget to look at her patches tutorial.

. photography

lisa gordon

recently i saw this photo on flickrexplore on my iPad, i almost could not stop looking at it, in my eyes it is perfect.

jeroen jeremiasse

jeroen is someone who i know for a very long time, in the nineties we were colleagues. he is very creative which is reflected in, among other, photography and filmmaking. these are two examples of his work (the architecture makes me think a bit of a crochet mesh pattern, but architects may find this ridiculous). when you can, take a look around on his website.

. embroidery

a while back i started with the makeup bags on which i have embroidered a flower. i learned embroidery as a little girl but i’ve never done much with. i looked around the internet and found great tutorials, they are made with dedication, impressive i have to say. if you want to embroider too (for example on your crocheted or knitted work) but you are not familiar with, take a look at these sites:

and if you like fashion and colors, you can download the fashion report fall 2011 on

pantone’s website

i hope you enjoy your weekend!
