as promised here is the explanation for the edge of the candy color scarf. please use the photo’s as your reference.
between ** and ** is 1 shell
what you do is crochet 2 sc in every 5 ch space with 3 ch between them and you make 2 sc in every 8 ch space with a shell between them.
the 4 corners of the scarf are a tiny bit different: 2 sc in 8 ch space, make a shell, 2 sc in the same 8 ch space.
**** the last stitch
1 sc next to the first sc you made, cut the yarn, with an embroidery needle sew under the two loops of the first sc, pull yarn loosely, sew under the back loop of the last sc (on the 3rd picture you can see i did it wrong), pull yarn loosely, weave in ends on the backside of your scarf. see also the photos of part 1 of the tutorial under the heading: another technique when changing colors.
the right sides of the shells are on the back side of the scarf
candy color scarf ready to wear my scarf is 4 rows high and 27 rows long that makes 108 squares. of course you can make your own scarf as narrow or wide, long or short as you want. have fun!
